Porthleven Football Club "annoyed" after graffiti incident

Porthleven Football Club has voiced their disappointment after graffiti was sprayed on the club dugouts.
The club has appealed for any information into the vandalism after they were only repainted last year.
Helston Weather: Motorists urged to take extra care after flooding of roads in local area

Motorists in Helston and the surrounding area have been warned about going out and about at the moment due to heavy rainfall on the roads.
There have been numerous reports of roads flooding in the area, with residents sharing images of Penrose flooding and Porthleven roads in and out of the village, heavy flooding also at Methleigh Bottoms.
Large swells and high winds causing concerns for safety of surfers

HM Coastguard Area 11 Cornwall has issued a warning to surfers in the local area after the high winds and large swells have made conditions challenging.
The coastguard has been tasked to a series of surfer related incidents yesterday and this afternoon.
Helston residents are now able to easily see how many Coronavirus cases there are in and around the area.
A government interactive map has been launched which is accessible to everyone.
Flooding alert issued for West Cornwall following heavy rainfall

A flood alert has been issued for West Cornwall Rivers following heavy rainfall over the last couple of days.
The Gov.uk flood information service said that flooding is possible over the next four days from today Saturday 30th through to Tuesday 2nd February.

Helston residents have been warned to steer clear of sick or dead birds after the death of swans in the local area.
Two swans found dead in the Falmouth have sparked concerns over the spread of Avian Influenza commonly known as bird flu.

Helston businesses keep marshals and surgery staff fuelled during weekends vaccination programme

Helston eateries showed their community spirit by offering food and hot drinks for marshals and staff at Helston Medical Centre during Sunday's round of vaccinations.
The Cornish Oven and Crate came together offering refreshments for those still working on a Sunday during the hailstorm.

Staff working in Lidl, Helston will be getting a one-off £200 thank you payment for their hard work and ongoing dedication during the pandemic.
The discounter will award frontline colleagues, including customer assistants, warehouse operatives and cleaners, across more than 800 stores and 13 distribution centres with a £200 "thank you" payment.
