Pub fined for breaking lockdown rules.

A pub in Cornwall has been fined £1,000 after people were found drinking alcohol inside the premises during lockdown.

Cornwall Council's Covid Enforcement Team has served a fixed penalty notice on the business after police discovered a group of men inside the pub drinking alcohol and listening to music.

A Royal Navy sailor from Helston has been presented with a Meritorious Service Medal for his 27 distinguished years as an aircraft engineer, mostly working at RNAS Culdrose.

Chief Petty Officer Mark Carruthers (right) was presented him with the medal as he left the service by air station commanding officer Captain Stuart Finn (left). Mark continues to work at RNAS Culdrose as a civilian.

The Coinage Hall, Helston is on the list of Wetherspoons pubs re-opening on 12th April, announced by the chain today (Thursday, 4th March).

The pub giant J D Wetherspoons released a list of 394 of its venues that will open when restrictions lift enough to allow serving outdoors - and Coinage Hall is on it. However, the Falmouth pub won't be given the lack of outdoor seating.
