Local fire teams battled with a gorse fire for over 4 hours yesterday evening.
At around 8:45pm last night, St. Keverne Community Fire Station were called to a fire in the open between Landkidden cove and Kennack on the cliff path - assisted by crews from Mullion and Helston.
There have been lots of stories in Helston this week, among them, The Hideaway announced a final summer, the plans were announced for Porthleven Arts Festival and there were numerous gorse fires in the area.

Residents in Helston and the surrounding area have been urged to avoid unnecessary trips to the tip this weekend - following long queues at many sites.
At some centres, waiting times have reached over an hour in recent days.
Plans for Porthleven Arts Festival in September are going ahead, it was announced today.
Held over 10 days in 10 venues, the Porthleven Art Festival will be an annual celebration of art from dance and drama to painting and film - from 25th Sept – 3rd Oct.

Residents in the Carleen area of Breage Parish have formed a community group as a result of Cornish Tin Limited's recent announcement of their intention to drill exploratory boreholes in search of Tin and other metalliferous minerals in their residential area.
Residents have voiced their concerns that public meetings have not been made available to residents due to the lockdown and Cornish Tin's timetable for drilling.

Aspiring baker Charlie, buys ingredients, makes cakes and treats, delivers or posts them - then with his proceeds goes shopping and buys food for the Helston and Lizard Foodbank.
