Enquiries are ongoing into reports of a man acting suspiciously, police told Nub News.

Residents reported a large police presence in the town this morning, with numerous police cars and sniffer dogs said to be in the Trengrouse Way area.

Now, police have revealed the reason behind that large police presence.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at around 10:20am with reports of a male seen acting suspiciously in the Beacon Parc area of Helston.

"Officers have carried out searches in the town and enquiries are ongoing."
