Boris Johnson's four-step plan to get out of lockdown.

[H3] People up and down the country including from Helston and the surrounding area are patiently waiting to hear Prime Minister Boris Johnson explain how lockdown will be lifted. [.H2]

Mr Johnson is expected to speak in the House of Commons at 3:30pm. He will then hold a press conference at 7pm.

The government's plan consists of four steps.

Here's what we know so far:

The first step will happen in two parts:

First, on Monday, March 8, when schools will reopen and two people will be able to meet outdoors to socialise.

Then from Monday, March 29 people can meet outside in groups of six, or two households, and outdoor sports can resume.

Further lifting of restrictions are set to include:

Outdoor sports, including football, golf and tennis, will be allowed to resume from March 29 as well.

Organised adult and children's sport, such as grassroots football, will also return.

Progress to further steps depends on conditions around vaccination, infections, hospitalisations, deaths and new variants.
