A dog has died after going over the cliffs between Poldhu and Gunwalloe.

Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team assisted by Porthleven CRT were tasked around 8:30pm last night (Saturday 23rd) to recover the dog.

The team sent a rope technician over the cliffs - but the dog didn't survive the fall.

Mullion Coastguard also encountered a similar incident last week at Kynance Cove - issuing a reminder to people to keep their dogs on a lead.

The coastguard team added:

"Both teams were stood down and returned to station by 22:30. Many thanks to Porthleven CRT for their assistance on the shout."
