Local residents have voiced their delight after the announcement a popular Helston establishment will be reopening its doors.

The Angel Hotel on Coinagehall Street has been closed since the start of the pandemic but is now expected to reopen in time for Flora Day.

The historic hotel and pub is owned by Marilyn Bows and her partner Mike - who also run the Union Hotel (Penzance), and the White Hart Hotel (Hayle).

Posting on social media this week, Marilyn confirmed the reopening of the hotel and said they're looking for new staff.

There were lots of positive comments from community members, one resident said:

"I'm so pleased to hear this."

A second added:

"Good I hope you get it back to the great pub it used to be....hope it goes well."
