A Helston cat owner has issued a warning following a poisoning in Helston.

A warning has been issued by a Helston pet owner after a cat died this morning from suspected poisoning.

The news was shared by Garen Sharland, who lives in Park an Harvey.

He said:

"There is some sort of poison or toxin around Park an Harvey. We know this as our baby girl has Eaten some and sadly died this morning.

"People need to keep an eye out for their pets, as we don't know where it's come from. She was only young but wouldn't travel far from home."

There were suggestions that the poisoning could have been from antifreeze after numerous reports of cats being poisoned in the UK.

After taking his cat to the vets, it was revealed that it was something stronger and she had other symptoms than the ones from antifreeze.

This isn't the first cat to be killed from this poison/toxin in the area with other owners reporting cases similar to this.

One resident said that pre-winter their Hedgehogs died from suspected poisoning, and another said their cat recently died near Texaco, Clodgey Lane.
