Woman loses tooth during attempted robbery in St Keverne area

A woman was attacked in the St Keverne area this week which has sparked a police appeal.
A woman was attacked in the St Keverne area this week which has sparked a police appeal.

Two men attempted to grab a woman's bag near St Keverne which resulted in her losing a tooth.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a woman was targeted by the men on Meadow Lane, Rosenithon near St Keverne.

The incident occurred around noon on Monday 31st January. The woman, in her 50's, was approached by a vehicle before the driver got out and tried to grab her bag.

There was a struggle in which the woman fell and collided with the vehicle - losing a tooth in the process.

The suspects are described as white males, aged in their 20s, who were travelling in a blue hatchback vehicle. One of them was wearing a baseball cap.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson told Nub News:

"Officers are investigating a report of an assault with intent to commit robbery in Meadow Lane, Rosenithon near St Keverne, which happened between 11:50am and noon on Monday 31st January.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information which may help officers with their enquiries, is asked to call police on 101, or email [email protected].

"Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111."
