Coastguard teams were called out to Lizard Point after a woman fell and broke her ankle.

Mullion Coastguard Rescue Team responded at 12:30 yesterday afternoon (7th) to a female who had slipped on seaweed and fallen on the slipway.

After locating the casualty the team made an assessment of her injury and agreed it was a broken ankle.

A Mullion Coastguard spokesperson commented: "Two CROs then carried the lady to her car, where her partner drove her straight to hospital. The team was then stood down and returned to station."
