The winner of the Helston shop window competition was announced this morning with The Children's Hospice South West taking the prize.

In a statement issued this morning, Helston Community Interest Company and the Mayor, John Martin, thanked all businesses in Helston for their collective effort in this year's Christmas window competition.

Mayor John Martin said:

"The shop windows in the town really look fantastic and as daylight fades, they are enhanced by the festive lights.

"It was a really difficult decision to pick a winner as many businesses had put in so much effort but in the end, first place went to The Children's Hospice South West, second place to Daisy Chain and third to J.C. Williams.

"The Fisherman's Mission, Lillies and Pryor, Begent and Fry were highly commended."
