It should have been a weekend to remember for runners, but due to Coronavirus restrictions, the London Marathon was cancelled.

Not to be defeated, runners up and down the country took on their own versions of the event in a virtual marathon.

One of those runners was Helston resident Melissa Nicholas who spoke to Nub News last week.

On the run, Melissa told Nub News:

"It felt great 99% of the time but a little sugar and was fine, such a technical bit of coast and had to contend with darkness, rain and high winds too but I'm a nutter and loved it.

"So appreciative of the support, Neil and James for running and Jen and Dave for crewing. Lovely to see family and friends in Hayle and to support other runners."

Melissa has raised £230.00 for Sense, a national charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities.
