The beacon lighting ceremony will be going ahead in Helston to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

The UK is preparing for a four-day Bank Holiday weekend from 2nd - 5th June to commemorate the Queen's 70-year reign.

This will be the first time a British monarch has celebrated a Platinum Jubilee.

The Jubilee Beacons provide an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.

A beacon will be lit at Grylls Monument on Thursday 2nd June, 9:45pm.

As well as the beacon lighting, Helston will also be having a "Right Royal Knees Up" on Sunday 5th June.
