Good morning, and welcome to your weekly What's On in Helston. 

Every Thursday we round up some of the most eye-catching events occurring in your area over the weekend.

Friday 24th February - Marizon Beach Explore

'Walk Talk Kernow' is a FREE adult bereavement support group run by Cornwall Hospice Care. Whilst walking in nature, each group provides a space for those who are bereaved and seeking social connections with others who are also experiencing grief.

"Meet at the Folleyfield Long Stay Car Park by the Beach Hut refreshments in the carpark for registration. It's the one with lots of grass on the right just before you get into Marazion from Longrock."

From 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Friday 24th February - Jolly Roger - Pirate Band

JollyRoger is a Cornish 4-piece folk/punk/pirate band with a focus on bringing people together from all walks of life to have as they describe "A ruddy good knees up" and will perform at The Top House Inn from 21:00 PM.

The group also shared what the people of Helston could expect if you missed their last performance in Helston "Our gigs are high energy, and quite loud although, in smaller venues, our drummer will be armed with a Cajon so we don't end up deafening anyone!"

The Top House Inn will be going all out - Andy and Margaret will be dressed as Pirates as will the staff.

Saturday 25th February - Community Lantern Making Workshop - For Helston Lantern Parade 2023

This is an open community workshop at the Guildhall, inviting you to design and create your own lantern, to celebrate Helston and the St Piran's celebrations. Once you have created your lantern, you can then join the parade on Saturday 4th March 2023 at Helston Coronation Park and Boating Lake.

Saturday 25th February - Stacey Lee - Singer & Entertainer

More live music at the Top House Inn, Stacey Lee is a high-energy, full-of-fun person and a talented singer.

She will be performing hit songs from across the decades. There will be a song for everyone with her repertoire mix of Pop, Rock, Country, Reggae, Soul, Jazz & Blues.

Expect an evening of high energy, vibey and fun interaction, from 21:00 PM.

Sunday 26th February - Trust 10

Join a fun, free and friendly trail run around the beautiful Godolphin estate. Two loops of 5km with stunning views throughout. Post-run refreshments and cake are available from the Piggery café.

From 08:30 am - 14:00 PM, No booking is needed.
