Many people from Helston have expressed their concern after receiving a letter from Meneage Street Surgery where partners Dr. Vyvyan and Dr. Shaw. D has decided to provide Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board (CIOSICB) with a termination notice confirming they intend to leave their NHS contract on 31 March 2023.

The letter was written by Kirstie Lewis the deputy director of primary care, Kirstie understood that the letter may be unsettling but wanted people to know that there is currently no need for any action to be taken.

In the letter sent to patients, Kirstie made this statement: "The primary care team within CIOSICB is working with other GP providers in the area to explore what the future of the surgery might look like. Until the end of March 2023, full GP medical services will continue to be provided exactly as they are now. I wish to reassure you that you will always have access to an NHS GP practice, and until we update you further you should remain registered with Meneage Street Surgery. Our highest priority is to get the clarity that you need at the first opportunity."

Anyone with any concerns or questions about the letter has been told to contact the primary care team in the first instance, rather than the practice. You can email [email protected] or telephone 01726 627711.

If you have yet to receive a letter or would like to read it in full you can find all the information on the Meneage Street Surgery website here: Meneage Street Surgery (meneagesurgery.com)
