A Helston artist has shared her most recent painting and residents have been left in awe by its 'photographic' realism.

Alice Hole, who moved to Helston eight years, uploaded her painting of Porthleven harbour on to a community forum page yesterday.

The painting, which features intricate detail and striking colours, has been reacted to more than one thousand times.

Alice Hole told Nub News: "I was inspired by the stunning landscape and historical towns and villages, so I started to paint and draw my surroundings.

"My aim is to try and recreate the atmosphere and beauty that I see in the Cornish scenery."

One resident responded to the photo stating: "Wow it looks like a photo. It's amazing."

Another resident said: "Absolutely stunning! Had to double take as thought it was a photo."

You can find and purchase Alice's originals and prints in The Square Restaurant in Porthleven, Pictures & Things Gallery in Helston and on her website.
