A seal pup was rescued this morning after bad weather swept it into the harbour at Porthleven.

Pictures of the seal were shared on social media after it found its way to the nearby bus stop.

Sharing pictures of the seal was resident Lisa Cadman, who said:

"Seal rescue at the bus stop this morning, a pup had ended up in the inner harbour after the bad weather last night."

It was not injured but was taken by the Seal Sanctuary to be checked before release.

James Walker wrote:

"Together with the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary the British Divers Marine Life Rescue picked up this young female grey seal from the shipyard at Porthleven this morning.

"She was checked over, given some rehydration fluids and marked. She will be released later this morning at a quite safe location."
