Families in temporary accommodation at Retanna Holiday Park held their own Jubilee celebrations raising money for St Petrocs.
The park houses over 40 homeless families with small babies and children. They all came together over the big Jubilee weekend for a great day featuring face painting, a barbecue, a petting zoo, and a raffle. Prizes were all donated from people on the site and the food for the barbecue was donated by Parkdean on the Lizard.
In total, they raised a fantastic £217.50. St Petrocs was chosen as many have been supported by the charity after being made homeless.
Organiser Heather Street said: "Manager of Retanna Chantelle Matthews has worked tirelessly hard to make sure that we have good quality, safe living conditions; it was only right to give back to the community.
"She had an crazy idea to host a Jubilee party for everyone on Retanna. She felt like we needed a bit of cheer to brighten the spirits."
She added: "Chef Rebecca Carlise made sure everyone was well fed with burgers and hot dogs kindly donated from her work in the Lizard as well as Sam Aitkenhead who whipped everyone up to donate amazing raffle prices including tickets from Flambards.
"And we got even luckier with the weather. Everyone came away having lots of fun and having raised an amazing amount for charity."
