Helston residents have reacted in anger towards images showing litter left across the moors at St John's.

Yesterday afternoon, local resident Audrey Kellow was out for a walk when she came across the litter, broken bottles, drinks cans, general rubbish and hair dye.

Among the rubbish was a fire which Audrey said was still fresh.

She wrote:

"Anyone brought up in our beautiful countryside would surely be taught to respect our surroundings.

"We did lots of partying in the 60s but never ever left our rubbish, don't even get me started on bags of dog poo in hedges. Makes me so angry."

Residents responded with one saying:

"Wouldn't be surprised if it was the group that walked past my house at 4:30am screaming and shouting."

A second said:

"That same spot, always seems to be left in a state."

A third added:

"This, as well as the amount of dog mess on the floor is exactly why I've stopped walking my dog up there."
