Helston has been full of life today after traders reopened to the public (12th April).

Most of the towns barbershops, cafes and pubs were all back in business following the easing of restrictions.

Speaking to business owners, some couldn't catch a break as customers rushed back to the shops, with a large queue outside Fatty's Barbers as people looked to get a long-awaited haircut.

Melinda King, manager at The Fishermen's Mission, said:

"To come down this morning and see everyone queued up is really strange but it is nice to see everyone back shopping in the town again."

The Beehive has also reopened with a revamped beer garden and decking area, an employee at the bar told Nub News:

"It is a breath of fresh air isn't it, it is nice to see the town back open again."

Owner of Sweet Pea Floral Studio Lin Turner told Nub News:

"We have been busy, it has been a really good vibe today and it has been lovely to see so many people out today. We have had customer after customer today which is so good after a tough few months."

Amanda Holgate, the owner of Headrush Gifts, said:

"Very steady, nice people and new people, I didn't know what to expect but it has been a steady flow.

"I was a bit nervous, Christmas was brilliant so I am hoping it will continue like this." Amanda also has a special offer at the moment, get a free broach with every purchase, broaches handmade by Jo Davies.
