A series of projects are in the works to revitalise Helston and business owners and residents are being invited to have their say.

Helston CIC has been working with Cornwall Council, Helston Town Council and various community groups to develop a series of projects aimed at improving Helston town centre and bringing "much-needed" vitality back into the town.

They are now on the lookout for volunteers who could give their time to make a difference to the town.

A spokesperson for Helston CIC said:

"The group is now at the point where funding is becoming available to take the plans to wider consultation and detailed design.

"To support this work we are keen to broaden the current steering group - the Helston Place Shaping Board - to oversee project development as well as represent key sectors within the town centre.

"If you have a passion for improving Helston town centre and run a business in the town or live in the town centre we would love to hear from you.

"We're seeking at least two business owners and one town centre resident who are willing to give some voluntary time to help make a positive difference in the Town."

The projects to revitalise the town include improvements to traffic flows, paths, pavements and cycleways, refurbishment of Helston's Market Place and Drill Hall Yard as well as other projects to promote Helston's heritage.

Also measures to support the economy of the town centre and proposals for a community hub.
