The Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team took on a different task this evening following an accident near the coastguard station.

Whilst team members at the station were re-stowing equipment a member of the public flagged up a collision that might require medical assistance.

The team moved after being permitted to assist.

A spokesperson for Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"On arriving a single vehicle had had a bump with a hedge and thankfully no one was injured.

"We remained on scene directing traffic, due to the location of the car on sharp bends, until the car had been moved to a safe place for recovery."
