Yesterday evening a driver was stopped by police in Helston after a breath test showed them to be over the drink-drive limit.

Driving or attempting to drive while above the legal limit or unfit through drink the motorist could get:

  • 6 months' imprisonment
  • An unlimited fine
  • A driving ban for at least 1 year

A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Roads Policing Team said:

"Another driver took the risk in the Helston area this evening and now has a day at court soon.

"Prescribed limit for Alcohol is 35."

This follows the news last week after a separate driver was caught by police on suspicion of drug driving.
