Over 100 entries for Helston photography competition

After a huge number of entries and many weeks of judging - the winners of the Love Helston photography competition have been announced.

The competition was launched in January with photographers tasked with demonstrating their love for the town. The top six photographs in each category are set to feature in a 2023 Helston calendar.

A ceremony to unveil the winners took place earlier this week in The Guildhall.

Helston Mayor Tim Grattan-Kane revealed there was a total of 138 entries across the two categories making the competition "very interesting", "some of the photographs were truly spectacular," he commented.

Under 18 Winners

1st Prize - Zach Blundy

2nd Prize - Ayva Macleod

3rd Prize - Evelyn Blunt

4th Prize - Keziah Blundy

4th Prize - Malachi Blundy

4th Prize - Molly Bartholomew Adult Winners 1st Prize - Kathy White

2nd Prize - Mike Dixon

3rd Prize - Paul Godier

4th Prize - Kate McGuiness

4th Prize - Helen Colbridge

4th Prize - Lesley Treloar

The winning photos will be displayed in The Museum of Cornish Life as well as in the window at Number 1 Wendron Street.

"Keep taking great photos of our town throughout the year as you may be our winner next year," Helston Town Council added.
