Coronavirus restrictions have caused a change in how Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday is marked this year.

You may not be able to attend a memorial service but an idea put forward by a Helston resident means you can still pay your respects.

Backed by Helston Town Council, they said:

"Coronavirus restrictions dictate that this year's Remembrance Day presentations, organised by the Royal British Legion, can sadly only be attended by a select few.

"Theresa Neal has suggested a way for the community to remember the fallen by painting a poppy onto a pebble."

The Town Council, have agreed to act as a collection point for anyone who would like to paint pebbles for Remembrance Sunday, and take them to Helston Guildhall.

The mayor will then place them all around the monument memorial on the communities behalf.

The Guildhall is open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.

Theresa urged people to get involved adding:

"It would be lovely to be able to still show how much we care and something any age can do."
