There have been images shared online of highly poisonous hemlock roots washed up at Loe Bar.

There are four species of Cicuta - known by its common name of water hemlock - all are highly poisonous to dogs and humans, and other animals.

Found by a local resident walking around Loe Bar, they said:

"Beware of what I believe are Hemlock roots washed up on Loe Bar this morning after the high tides, this pile was near the poolside on the beach. It's highly poisonous to dogs and humans."

If your dog does end up digesting Hemlock you should seek veterinary attention straight away.
