Helston's Coronation Park team 'saddened' following series of vandalism incidents

By Joseph Macey 30th Dec 2020

The team at Helston's Coronation Park have been left 'saddened' by a recent series of vandalism incidents.

Between 3pm on Monday 28th December and 9am on Tuesday 29th December there was reports of a number of incidents of "nuisance vandalism" in the park.

A litter bin was removed and thrown into a nearby river, a lid was forcibly removed from a dog waste bin and the park litter bin had its lining removed, also thought to have been thrown into the river.

All of these will prove to be expensive to replace on "very limited funds."

A spokesperson for Coronation Park said:

"It saddens me that we have to report incidents such as these. Al and his team have worked incredibly hard during a very difficult year in order to keep the park open, clean and tidy so the local community can enjoy the outdoor space so it is particularly demoralising when items are deliberately damaged."

The incidents have been forwarded onto the police.

Devon and Cornwall Police have been contacted for further comment.
