By Friday 5th June all of Cornwall's 14 HWRCs will be open again, with an easing of some of the current restrictions allowing the reintroduction of trailers onsite.

There will also be reduced traffic management measures at some sites.

Rob Nolan, Cornwall Council's Cabinet Member for Environment and Public Protection said:

"This reopening of the last few sites is the result of a significant effort by our Waste team and contractors Suez, and in Saltash and Pool I urge residents to follow the traffic diversions and marshal instructions.

"This is another big step back to normality, but social distancing and avoiding virus infection remains our main priority, so please read the information on our website before setting out."

The main changes are as follows:

- All sites will now accept trailers (in accordance with the existing permit system). Using a trailer and multiple containers may make your visit longer, so please pre-sort rubbish to speed your visits and keep them safe.

- Please note that the number plate entry system remains in place. If the last digit in your number plate is odd, please visit on an odd date of the month, if it is '0' or even, visit on an even date) Number plate system.

- We are reducing some of the traffic management and marshalling at some HWRCs, so please follow directions on approach.

- All other restrictions still apply.

There could also be more news to follow as Rob Nolan hinted at further changes, he added:

"We hope to extend the range of accepted materials soon, so please look out for information on this at your local site.

"Thank you all for your continuing patience and observation of these necessary restrictions."
