'Onwards and upwards': Butterfly Wood determined to keep working after trespasser poos on Helston memorial site

The residents behind Butterfly Wood in Helston have said that hidden cameras could be placed at the site after a person trespassed and defecated on the site.

They pooed in a bucket on the site, which Martine Knight found when she arrived to work at the woods "words don't often fail me, but they did for a while then," she said.

However, they have vowed to carry on and didn't let it stop them as the work continued on the site.

In March Nub News interviewed Martine Knight who told us about 'Butterfly Woods and Davids Creek' which is in memory of her son David, he took his own life in 2013.

Martine said:

"We arrived on site ready for another day's hard graft - only to find that someone had not only trespassed over the weekend, but had seen fit to have a poo (polite term) in our bucket and leave it for us to find.

"Words don't often fail me, but they did for a while then. This will now mean that we have to spend money on hidden cameras when that same money could be better spent on the project.

"Anyway, we rose above it and got on with the jobs in hand and today's achievements included:- clearing the last 25 yards of the river of fly-tipped rubbish and invasive vegetation (just a couple of big things left until we can tackle them with equipment) - before and after pics; 2 more fence panels up and 2 post holes dug, and a start made on the base for the toilet hut."
