Helston Town Band has launched 'Isolation Sessions' to continue the music whilst in lockdown.

Posted on Youtube yesterday, the band played Everybody Needs Somebody.

Jack Curnow, a member of the Helston Town Band created a backing track to one of the pieces that they would have been playing at a concert, sent it around to everybody via the internet and asked them all to try and record their parts with their phones and then pieced them together.

Jack told Nub News:

"As Helston Town Band we are used to rehearsing twice a week, that is alongside any concerts that we have or competitions, we normally do a lot of work together throughout the year particularly coming into the summer.

"With lockdown that has all stopped, we couldn't go to the last competition that we spent months and months prepping for because we chose to keep the band safe so we thought well how can we keep the music going and have a little bit of fun.

"We are quite pleased with how the first attempt came out, lots of bands are doing I know Porthleven have done a couple.

The response has been huge with over 1000 views on Youtube in less than 24 hours, you can see the performance by clicking here and they have over 100 likes on the Facebook post.

Jack added:

"The response has been really great so far, I put it up at about 7pm last night (13th) everyone seems to have really enjoyed it, people are asking for more and when is the next one and sharing it."

Jack also dropped a hint that "there might be more to come" in the next few weeks. You can expect more clues on that from their Facebook page by clicking here.
