The Helston Flora Day Association has addressed the rumours surrounding this year's events.

The association said that initial plans are in the works ahead of a government announcement in mid-February following the first phase of the vaccination programme.

A spokesperson for Helston Flora Day Association said:

"The Helston Flora Day Association stewards are aware of, and not surprised by, speculation regarding this year's Flora Day. It is quite clear that, under current Coronavirus restrictions, Flora Day could not go ahead.

"However, recognising how important this day is to Helstonians, we have set in place initial plans and are awaiting to see what the Government says in mid-February."

A further announcement is to be made after that once everything has been considered.
