Helston community rallies together to support family after gardening equipment and produce stolen

A family who used lockdown to grow vegetables and raise money for their local NHS team, have had their polytunnel broken into equipment and produce "cruelly stolen."

In response to the theft, a crowdfunding page was set up by Tracy Evans, the community came together to raise over £200.

The theft had occurred on private property in captains lane, Helston between Thursday and Saturday morning.

Laura, a community nurse and mother to 3 children was said to be "heartbroken" to wake up to the theft.

The theft was shared on a community page, reading:

"Were raising £100 to help youngsters who raised money for the NHS during lockdown by growing produce from seed, someone broke in and stole it.

"The family also had a theft earlier in the year during lockdown when they started selling seedlings and raised £50 for the NHS they had seedlings stolen from their stall at the end of their lane, which left the children extremely upset."

The incident is being reported to the police.
