On Saturday afternoon a Porthoustock Coastguard team member came to the assistance of an unresponsive teenager at Helston Boating Lake.
Whilst out at the boating lake in Helston with his daughter, one of the team members noticed a teenager that appeared to be unwell surrounded by other teenagers.
It was established that the teenager was intoxicated but still responsive.
Because the team member was with his young child he advised the people with him to watch him carefully and moved away.
A 999 call was then made.
A spokesperson for Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team said:
"Before the arrival of the police, friends tried to move him, however, he vomited and his friend let him go when he fell and banged his head on the floor becoming unresponsive.
"At this point, our team member returned with another member of public to assist in maintaining an airway whilst he was unresponsive and continuing to vomit.
"Shortly after the police arrived and with an ambulance en route that was called by members of the public our team member was able to stand down."
The team member praised the family group for their assistance during the incident.
Also in attendance at the Boating Lake was Devon & Cornwall Police and the South Western Ambulance Service.
