Helston community projects could win a share of £40,000 in National Lottery funding

Projects in Helston and the Lizard could be in the running to win a share of £40,000.

The local community are being invited to attend a special event on Saturday 19th March at The Old Cattle Market, Helston where they can vote for their favourite local community projects to win a share of National Lottery funding.

Pitch a Project Helston and the Lizard is an initiative being delivered by the Cornwall Rural Community Charity (CRCC) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

The organisations have been working together to support community groups in the TR12 and TR13 postcode areas to develop community projects and help to make them become a reality.

Community projects who have been successful through the first stage will be pitching their project ideas to the public in a two-minute video in a bid to win their votes. Winners will be announced on the day, with the successful groups receiving a grant of up to £10,000 each of National Lottery funding.

The Pitch a Project event, will take place at the Old Cattle Market, Helston on Saturday 19th March from 11:30am-2pm. Members of the local community are invited to register to attend to vote for their favourite projects.
