Helston: Awards for Museum of Cornish Life
A successful February for the Museum of Cornish Life with two awards.
The museum based at Market Place was shortlisted for the Cornwall Heritage Awards and Cornwall Tourism Awards.
The Heritage Awards saw the museum highly commended for the category of 'Healthy Team'. This was for organisations that look after their workforce of staff and/or volunteers.
They were also selected for object of the year. This award celebrated objects that tell previously untold stories or retells a story from a different perspective. The object shared was the "Dancing Girl of Naukratis".
At the Cornwall Tourism Awards, they won silver for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year.
A spokesperson for the museum added:
"Our volunteer front-of-house team always give a lovely warm welcome and this award is a credit to them all. We love welcoming people to the museum and sharing stories of Cornish Life and are delighted to be recognised for all that we do. We thank both the award organisers and sponsors."
