Goonhilly Downs vehicle fire "accidental" following road closure

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have released further details following a vehicle fire at Goonhilly Downs in the early hours.

The B3293 was temporarily closed this morning after a vehicle caught fire.

The road near Helston was closed for just over an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.

A spokesperson for Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said:

"Fire crews have made the scene safe. The incident has been handed over to Devon and Cornwall Police for the vehicle to be recovered. Please approach with caution.

"At this time we believe the circumstances of the fire are not suspicious and that the cause was accidental."
