Images of a fire in Porthleven have been shared this afternoon, with the fire service and police on the scene.

A garage appears to have caught alight on Wellington Road with the fire service currently working to get it under control.

Residents have reported thick smoke in the area.

One resident commented:

"From someone who went to look that is not a house but is in fact a garage that had gas bottles and other explosive materials and items stored in it."

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for further comment.

"A lot of little explosions and one larger one were heard going off from some way away," a nearby resident added.
