A recent business collaboration between two Lizard businesses resulted in a fun-filled morning of laughter, team building, and homemade cake.
The result – a solidified business collaboration with future goals and plans to benefit both businesses.
Andy and Margaret took over the Top House Inn on the Lizard just over a year ago, after it had been run down and closed for some time. Being just out of lockdown and covid restrictions they had to think outside of the normal to reinstate the business back into the community and satisfy a new post covid market.
One of the first things they recognized was that there were a lot of businesses on the Lizard and that no one really knew each other, nor had it occurred to any of them to work together. They set out to contact some local businesses in the hope of starting a conversation and seeing what the potential there was to help each other.
Along with the Top House Inn and Lizard Adventures, the first taster session between the two businesses was a huge success.
Members of staff from the Top House and people from the local community. met up at Mullion Cove for a huge teambuilding paddleboard session following which the group met at the Top House for homemade cake and ale, and chatted about the possibilities of working together.
They have agreed to promote each other's businesses by sharing information and links on social media and their prospective websites.
Collaboration is so important and costs next to nothing to promote and engage people in. The businesses including Helford Life, and the Helston Nub News came along to photograph the event, having tasted the possibilities of what is on offer and each other's businesses realized the value that they each have to offer each other.
The Top House will put together special combined packages and rates for accommodation and activities to promote low season business and will hand out brochures about Lizard Adventures. Lizard Adventures met people in the local community and will promote the pub as accommodation close for their customers. It's a WIN-WIN for everyone involved.
Everyone was left with a feel-good vibe, great photographs, and the knowledge that collaborations are a must in today's world.
