Bomb disposal squad called to Helston after hand grenade discovered

Royal Navy Bomb Disposal team were called out to Helston after an old hand grenade was discovered.

The bomb disposal squad situated in Plymouth made their way to Helston yesterday (9th) - with help from Falmouth Police.

The device was disposed of through a controlled detonation.

Details of the incident were shared by Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team, adding:

"An unearthed old hand grenade led Bomb Disposal Plymouth to attend an address in the Helston area.

"A controlled detonation took place nearby ensuring public safety was restored. Thanks to Falmouth Police for their assistance and patience."

Devon and Cornwall Police have been approached for any further details.
