Helston takeaway Salt & Vinegar will be offering free school lunches during half term.
Today has seen businesses flock to offer their support after MPs refused the motion to extend free school meals.
Salt & Vinegar will also be providing free bottled water and fruit to any children.
The takeaways management announced the move today saying:
"Our children are our future and we like many others around want to protect them and see them flourish, so in light of recent events lead by the government to not extend free meals over half term we would like to offer help.
"Management will be coming in early daily to prepare packed lunches for children, we do not wish you to buy anything in the process we simply just want to help anyone in need.
"We have all faced hurdles this year and our children should not have to be at this shortfall.
"Let's do it together, us, as well as many other shops and cafes we've seen, are also doing their bit to contribute so we urge anyone else in the right position to also help."
You can also call the team and sort a collection confidentially.
Since posting on social media Salt & Vinegar told Nub News they have been inundated with calls with people offering support and donations.
