Mental health charity Your Voice has been approved for funding from the Cornwall Social Inclusion Fund.

The charity needs to raise the first £300 of the £3,000 target, and the last £300. The rest is funded, a huge boost of £2400.

The money will be used to establish a Wellness Hub, the first of its kind in West Cornwall.

Speaking to Nub News, Founder of Your Voice Natasha Long said:

"I was absolutely over the moon to hear that we had been awarded the funding. But, it also puts pressure on us to massively push our Crowdfunder and meet the amount we need to which will enable us to receive the funding.

"With our plans to find a space for our shop - which would have provided a regular income to fund our services - on hold due to Covid; we need all the funding we can get. We have the expenses of our support groups, plus the activities/wellness services we are starting to offer, all costing money and eating into our existing funds.

"This funding will massively help us towards establishing our dream of a Wellness Hub, which has always be our main aim. Next year we will be going full speed ahead to achieve this dream - which will provide the most incredible (and vital) services for those affected by Mental Health conditions across Cornwall.

"So, we desperately need people to support us and pledge towards our CrowdFunder. The impact of COVID-19 is going to be felt for a long time, and so many people have been hit incredibly hard when it comes to their Mental Health and well-being, and organisations like us need backing to ensure we can continue to deliver our services.

"Without the support from our communities, we will struggle to do this."
