Woman's death being treated as suspicious following incident in Helston

Police swarmed the town this afternoon.

The death of a 62-year-old woman in Helston is being treated as suspicious, police have told Nub News.

A heavy police presence was reported in town by local residents this morning as police were called to an address on Meneage Road, Helston at around 8:30am with a report of concern for a woman.

Emergency services, including paramedics, armed police and forensic teams were all pictured at the scene.

The 62-year-old woman was declared deceased upon arrival, and the next-of-kin informed.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson told Nub News:

"Her death is being treated as suspicious and police enquiries are ongoing as to the cause of her death.

"Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anything out of the ordinary in the Greenbank, Bullock Lane and Meneage Street areas of Helston between the evening of Monday 24th May and this morning, Tuesday 25th May.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or via email [email protected] and quote log 128, 25/05/2021."
