Police respond to huge number of calls on coronavirus breaches
Devon and Cornwall Police were flooded with calls over the weekend of coronavirus breaches - nearly all linked to holiday homes.
Glenn Shuttleworth, Control Room Supervisor with Devon and Cornwall Police was early into his shift when he had received 41 calls of coronavirus breaches.
At the end of his shift, he revealed the team had calls from over 250 coronavirus breaches.
Revealing his "frustration" on social media Glenn Shuttleworth, Control Room Supervisor with Devon and Cornwall Police:
"Late shift today. Just over an hour gone and 41 Covid breaches, we need to attend already, pretty much all people at holiday homes, frustrating.
"A quick tally for the day and we had over 250 Covid breaches which represents almost a third of the workload."
It caused quite a stir on social media with another member of the police retweeting:
"What is wrong with people. Stay at home."
