St Michael's Church, Helston has announced a suspension of public worship.

The decision has been taken to protect the health of those connected with the church.

Announced this week, the church said, "with a heavy heart, the clergy and PCC of St Michael's Church, in consultation with the diocese, have taken the decision to temporarily suspend public worship at St Michael's.

"We do so out of a desire to protect each other's health and to avoid placing a burden of risk on the shoulders of key members of our church community, especially those who are classified as particularly vulnerable."

Whilst the building is closed, the community of the church is very much alive. Online worships are continuing to be available, and the ministry team are around about other concerns.

"Our prayers are with all in our local community in these challenging times," the church added.
