A teacher with years of experience practicing yoga has started new classes in Helston.

Taking place at Andrew Hall on Church Street - Vinyasa is a gentler pace to the traditional yoga which aligns the breath with flowing movement from one yoga pose to the next.

Sandra Cassidy is the person behind the sessions, she has been practicing yoga since her twenties.

Sandra then transitioned into teaching yoga - and has been busy clocking up the training hours with various yoga teachers including Falmouth Yoga Space, and Grace Tempany in Dublin.

Sandra told Nub News:

"I enjoy yoga for so many reasons. Moving my body is paramount and to feel it gain strength and flexibility. Emotionally yoga helps me to tune in, to feel, to listen, to be calm, to push myself but also to be kind to myself. It's a real leveller.

"The new class at Andrew Hall is Slow Flow Vinyasa. This is a style of yoga that aligns the breath with flowing movement from one yoga pose to the next.

"Slow Flow is a gentler pace of yoga. The classes aim to help you build strength, flexibility, and mobility, connecting breath and movement as we move through the poses.

"Classes usually have a theme that will focus on a part of the body e.g. hips, shoulders, core, etc and usually, there's a yoga philosophy focus and a pranayama focus (breath awareness)."

The Vinyasa Yoga 'Friday Flow' sessions are held weekly 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Andrew Hall, Helston. It is £8 per class - mats and props available but people are asked to bring their own if they have them. All equipment is cleaned before and after each use.
