Local coastguard teams called after 84 year old falls from rocks
Mullion and Porthoustock Coastguard Rescue Team's were tasked with a casualty incident this morning at St Anthony-In-Meneage beach.
Emergency teams were on the scene at around 12:30, they found an 84-year-old female had fallen on the rocks at St Anthony-In-Meneage and suffered a bad cut to her head and a possible concussion.
A collar was placed on the casualty as a precaution and bandages compressed over head injuries - with concerns for possible neck or back injuries.
After first aid was administered by the ambulance crew, the casualty was airlifted to Truro hospital for further observation.
A spokesperson for Mullion Coastguard added:
"Both teams stretchered the casualty to the awaiting helicopter, which then flew her direct to Truro. We were then stood down and returned to our stations. Many thanks to Cornwall Air Ambulance for their quick response."
