RNAS Culdrose sailors lending a hand in the community to help Mylor fisherman
Personnel from RNAS Culdrose have been helping a former fisherman struggling with poor health.
In a project working with the charity Fishermen's Mission, the four-strong team from RNAS Culdrose's infrastructure department helped Dave Coughlan who had recently moved to a house in Mylor Bridge, near Falmouth.
Chief Petty Officer Jason King, able ratings Cameron Quirke and Cohban Salter, and civil servant Chris Dowling stepped in to build Mr Coughlan's new garden shed – a job he was unable to do on his own.

CPO King said:
"As a person who has been self-sufficient and able-bodied his whole life, I know asking for help was a difficult step for Dave, but his health is so poor that he finds it difficult to move around for long and could not do this job himself.
"This is where we able to help by levelling the ground, constructing a base, and building the steel shed, which seemed to include a million screws.
"ABs Quirke and Salter are awaiting their aircrewmen training and now they have some new skills, and are fully qualified in shed construction. They also put his new barbecue together as a finishing touch.
"Dave was so pleased with our help he was speechless and quite moved, which made it so worthwhile."
