Police and fire teams have issued advice to Helston motorists as heavy weather sets in across the county - with a yellow weather warning in place for Friday.

Showers are expected to carry on for the rest of the week.

This afternoon, the rain will clear leaving some scattered showers behind, but there will also be some sunshine.

Tonight, there will be some clear spells and variable amounts of cloud at first. In the early hours, some scattered showers will develop over the region, heavy in places.

On Friday, a spell of wet and windy weather is expected, with potential for flooding and transport disruption.

Cornwall fire and rescue service said:

"The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain & wind for Friday (2nd).

"Please take extra care if travelling in these conditions."
