Police investigating after Helston business targeted in burglary

A group of youths breaking into a Helston eatery has sparked a police appeal.

The Waffle Factory, Meneage Street, revealed on social media it was broken into just after 8:30pm on Monday evening (10th) with a group of youngsters reportedly caught on CCTV.

The restaurant has been forced to close for part of this week following the incident.

It will be closed for the rest of today and tomorrow (Wednesday 12th).

The police were due to visit The Waffle Factory this afternoon as part of their enquiries.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told Nub News:

"We are investigating a burglary at a commercial premises in Meneage Street, Helston, which happened at around 8:40pm on Monday 10th January. A quantity of cash was stolen. Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or email [email protected], quoting log 154 of 10 January 2022."
