The police have urged motorists to check thoroughly for valid insurance after seizing a vehicle near Helston yesterday (24th).

The latest incident comes after the news this week that Devon and Cornwall Police had caught out hundreds of drivers in Operation Vortex, including 73 drivers for not having valid insurance, with 35 vehicles seized.

A spokesperson for Alliance Roads Policing Team said:

"'I thought I was' doesn't wash it I'm afraid. This vehicle seized as the result of the driver having no insurance in the Helston area today.

"You must double-check there is valid insurance before driving someone else's vehicle, take responsibility."
